Tell us a little about your home..
Our house was built around 1910. It is a Dutch Colonial. There is also an addition from 1984 in the back. Our house is 2,400 square feet. Reliable sources have told us that it was the rectory for a Catholic church across the street, that has since been relocated.
What is your favorite thing about your home?
Our favorite thing about our home is the location! We love our neighbors, neighborhood, and being in walking distance of Downtown, playgrounds, grocery stores and great schools. We also love biking to Lake Atalanta on the weekends.
What brought your family to Downtown Rogers?
Our family came to Downtown Rogers because Ryan grew up in Rogers and always wanted to live Downtown. In January of this year he got the opportunity to worth with Main Street Rogers, a non-profit focusing on downtown area development, and we knew this was our chance to be part of a great community. Luckily this house was on the market when we were ready to move. We also have a blueberry farm here in Rogers.
Have you made any additions/remodel/changes to the home?
All we have done for improvements is refinish the floors and paint the walls. Upstairs was all carpet, so Ryan and his dad pulled that back and found beautiful old pine floors. Two bathrooms were also carpet so we tiled those. We have also had an energy audit done to try and find ways we can make our home better insulated and more efficient, which has resulted some small improvements here and there.
What is one of your favorite things to do in downtown Rogers?
Some of our favorite things to do in Downtown Rogers are to eat at Las Palmas Mexican Restaurant, drink an orange juice at Levi's Gastrolounge and visit the Downtown Rogers Farmers Market.
